Crimes of Fashion: Sex and the City Flower Dress

Since the SATC movie came out everyone is back to trying to get “The Carrie” look. Now don’t get me wrong I have gotten inspired by the looks that Sarah Jessica Parker pulls off as her alter ego “Carrie Bradshaw”. And other times like the white dress corsage dress she wore in the in the opening scene of the SATC movie just wasn’t my cup of tea. It just got worse one of the best costume designers of all times Patricia Field decided to “remake” the corsage dress, and I have to say the results are TRAGIC! Can you say “Scary Bradshaw”; this is one look from the SATC movie not to be inspired by.

Accessory Find of the Week: Street Roger Belt

The saga of getting Carrie’s SATC movie look continues with the belt she wore so chicly around the waist of some of the most stylish dresses. Unfortunately the one she wore in the movie was vintage and the good thing is designers have been scrambling to make an inspired- by look. Streets Ahead beat out all of the competitors by being the first to recreate the studded belt. The Street Roger belt is pretty much an exact replica of the belt worn in the movie a it's a little pricey at $198 a lot more than I pay for a belt. I also found out just yesterday from a fabulous friend ( stylemaven ) that works at Seen On that now Patricia Field has a replica of the belt and of course it’s a tad bit cheaper at $150. So if you want to add a little edge to your feminine look you can purchase your belt directly from Streets Ahead by filling out this order form or by vistiting patrciafield.com. If you’re unlucky and it’s sells out at the two places mention you can also buy it at Shop Intuition but, for some reason the price has been elevated to $250 and you have to wait until August to get you hands on it.

Style File Find of the Week: 5 Finger Half Glove

This find is too good just to be categorized just as an accessory find so it made it to find of the week status. If you’re anything like me you not only watched Sex and the City the Movie opening weekend, but you wanted some of the items of clothing the actresses wore. One piece other than the flowered bomber (I’m in love with that jacket) that caught my eye is the half glove Carrie was so casually rocking throughout the film. Well they can be yours they are available at SATC costume designer Patricia Field's online store. This "glovette" is a great way to spice up any outfit anytime of the year in lieu of jewelry. Now here comes the bad news they are sold out in black and pink (white still available) but will restock in July. And stay tuned for more SATC inspired looks.
