Hot Designer Alert: Kira Plastinina

Ignore the fact that Paris Hilton wears her designs; Russian born Kira Plastinina is a fashion mogul in the making. Yes, Kimora Lee Simmons watch your back because this girl is on fire. Kira Plastinina is just 16 years old and she already has her own store in NYC and Celeb fashion hangout Robertson Blvd and she’s looking to open 50 more in three years (fingers crossed Bay Area). Her looks are youthful, fun, hell some are even “tacky" (think Forever 21 meets the Savvy section in Nordstrom), but overall this girl has surprising skills for her age. You can take any piece from her collection and mix and match it with pieces in your wardrobe for a put together look and with the average price point of 48 dollar it’s worth the risk. Unfortunately for us Bay Area shoppers her online store isn’t up yet, but until then you can have your L.A. girlfriend pick you up something.

Hot Designer Alert: Whitley Kros

Friends turned design partners Sophia Banks and Marissa Ribisi (pictured) have blended their own personal fashion sense into the design house named after fictional “it” girl Whitley Kros. The Whitley Kros Fall 2008 show gave homage to the 80’s with a splash of 90’s grunge with its oversize plaids, wonderful hipster tees, stylized jumpers, lush capes/cardigans and some very surprising punches of “non fall” colors and retro patterns. These designs are definitely for the young at heart, and you can see any “hipster” (Mischa, Chloe, Sienna) wearing these with no hesitation. I for one think this line is wonderful, youthful, funky, fun, and a little eccentric and I definitely can’t wait to make my first purchase! (My Personal Wish list Item: Edgemont Signature Dress )
