"High" Fashion: Studded Vintage Converse

I can’t lie I love love love the punky, funky, fashiony goodness of the Studded Vintage Converse however I hate the 168 price tag that they dare to charge. I mean there is really no way to justify the price hike a plain pair of classic chucks ( no frills) is $44.99 of course that’s way more than your parents use to pay but still a price many people are willing to pay. Back to the Studded Vintage Converse, so they are a pair of classic chucks with studding details and did I mention that I don’t even care that the studs are hand applied still doesn’t justify the price! I’m challenging all of you who like these shoes to DIY, seriously anyone at an elementary school level of intelligence could create there own.

Here’s a list of Materials needed, and the rest should be self explanatory:

Chuck Taylor All Stars -49.99 ( brand new) or relatively free ( used)
Bedazzler -19.95
Studs – price varies (around 5.95-7.95 for 100) but this place has so many in brass, copper, gunmetal, black, silver, silver faceted etc etc.

All that is still less than half the price of the ones being sold online!

Accessory Find of the Week: Flower Corsage

photo cred: Topshop

Yesterday's post was all about how we can’t just wear everything our favorite fictional fashionsista wears. Well today is all about how you can wear a floral brooch on your favorite top or dress. Topshop has a small selection of corsages ranging from £6.00 to £12.00 pounds. For those of us not wanting to wait for our faux flower to ship from across the pond then you can also easily slip in to any local Michaels and pick up a faux flower snip the steam get a hot glue gun and attach a brooch backing( or just safety pin it) and there you go your very own DIY “Carrie” brooch. Best yet, Topshop has a really cute one shoulder dress ( pictured) that will help you pull the look together.

“High” Fashion: La Rok Rock and Roll Dress

I have to admit LaRok’s Rock Inspired pieces are pretty cool. Now it may take a certain confidence to pull some of the looks off or you may look like you had a bad bedazzler incident. My personal favorite is currently the appropriately named Rock and Roll Vest. This vest is more of an accessory than a piece of clothing. It would fit well with my wardrobe staples, the white t and jeans mix in a pair of booties and I’m ready to go. The one bad thing is it has the nerve to be priced at $288.00 now as I said before it's really cute, yet on the verge of a DIY project gone wrong so why would you pay more than 100 bucks (still pricey) for this item? When you get down to it any bored grandma with an infomercial addiction can make this. Obviously some fashion question, especially in regards to price points will never be answered.
