Bag It: Big Buddha Handbags

Let me just start off by saying I’m not a vegan hell I’m not even a vegetarian for that matter, but I do have to say I’m “eco conscious”. Mix my eco consciousness with my love for fashion and beauty and as you can see a lot of my post have a eco twist. Well this post about Big Buddha handbags is no different. Big Buddha handbags is a line right out of my own beachy back yard ( Santa Cruz baby!) that features a mixture of eco friendly materials like synthetic leather. Don’t let the non-leather aspect fool you, Big Buddha gets big press and has been featured in fashion forward magazines such as Marie Claire, Teen Vogue, InStyle, and Lucky. Prices vary, from $35 to about $90 dependant on the style and the size. You can pick up Big Buddha designs at the following Bay Area locations: De La Sole, Q & J Boutique, Ama, Ambiance ,Weston Wear, Ruby, Jest Jewels. Online store locations include my own online store and check out Big Buddha for more Fall 08 looks .

Dare to Wear: Costume Dept. Leggings

Okay I know this post is going to show how obsessed I have become with all things leggings. Costume Dept. is now feeding my obsession with its line of pattered, shiny, and even patterned and shiny leggings. With no celeb designer, and fairly new roots in the fashion industry, Costume Dept has managed to bring a new flair to the leggings trend by playing up the print factor. Costume Dept is primarily made of dead stock fabric from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s which means it’s keeping it’s carbon footprint small ( eco friendly yes) and means each leggings stock is limited edition( sold out really means sold out) clearly setting them apart from any other brand. The eccentric line will also leave a small cash footprint with prices ranging from $33 to $80 dollars ( depending on the rarity of the fabric). There aren't any stores in the Bay Area that carry this line yet, but if you’re bold enough to wear an ethnic themed bold print leggings ( I know I am) you can pick up a pair or two at costumedept.com or support me and Costume Dept. and pick them up at my online store.

Style File Find of the Week: Oh! Deer Confetti Pump

Boy to do I love the Oh DEER! Confetti Pump, talk about on trend for the fall with strong accessories, serious necklaces, liquid leggings, and yes “spiked” pumps. The shoe is a little pricey for the average working girl at 199.95, but I’m betting its well worth it especially compared to some of the luxury brands with similar styles. I love the deep almost black navy coloring with and the mary jane strap that adds a little softness you know, very school girl gone way way wrong in her studies but right on in the fashion department. Oh and did I mention these shoes are available at my new shop (shameless plug), and 4 dollars less than the Zappos price?
P.S. Check back later this week, the show will be featured in a "Look of the Week" post

The Style-list: Vanessa Hudgens @ Teen Choice Awards 2008

Becky O. submitted this picture of Vanessa Hudgens for me to perform my Style-list magic on. Although I did not perfectly nab the colors in the dress I tried to represent a splash of white in the shoes (aren’t they fab?).

Tiered Tube Dress- $29.80 @ Forever 21
Vita Silver Hardware Choco in Black (Bracelet) - $77.00 @ Revolve Clothing
Lizard Embossed Minaudiere - $19.99 @ Nine West
Oh Deer! Dots Pump – 164.95 @ Bay Area Style File Store

If you want an outfit similar to one you've seen on a "celeb" email me a picture and I'll do my best to find it and will feature it in a future post. bayareastylefile@gmail.com

Update: If you want a more dressed up version of this look I found a cute dress at BCBG.
