B.A. Style "Steal" of the Day: Earl Jeans

Who knew that Earl Jeans could be so reasonable? Earl Jeans was one of the originators of the high-end jean craze and has a NYC storefront. This brand is also still being sold at high-end online boutiques like Revolve Clothing, and Yoox. So imagine the shock when I found them priced from 15.99-23.99 at DrJays.com. I suggest if your size is in stock BUY BUY BUY!

B.A. Style "Steal" of the Day: Exposed Zipper Sweater Dress

My dreams of having a Hervé Leger dress (average cost 900 dollars) are still just a dream. There have been many companies that have made their version of the famous “bodycon” dress Topshop, Bebe, Gap, and now Forever 21 with the best rendition yet. Forever 21’s Exposed Zipper Sweater Dress is simply fantastic it has the curve hugging style, the banding and unique straps that are signatures to the iconic original. I’m even thinking of getting two and getting one cut shorter (knee length) so that I can have two great dresses. While the dress lacks the sheen ( it’s a duller sweater like material) of an Hervé Leger it’s still looks like it’s worth much much more than it’s 34 buck price tag. Happy Shopping!

B.A. Style "Steal" of the Day: Scoop Neck Pocket Tee

I love my American Apparel, and Urban Outfitters brand basic tees, but in this economy why pay $16.00, $19.00, $24.00 for a tee when you can get one for $6.80. Yes the Scoop Neck Pocket Tee from Forever 21 is basically 7 bucks (the v neck version w/o a pocket is $4.80). Don’t let the small price tag fool you these tees survive multiple washings, and the cotton is a perfect weight not see through paper thin or wintery thermal thick. The color selection online is limited, so head to your local mall if you want to pick up a few. Happy Shopping!

B.A. Style Steal of the Day: All in One Jersey Top

It’s no secret I’m a fan of Norma Kamali’s line for *gasp* Walmart. Well she has done it again with some of her newer items and I think this 20 dollar all in one jersey top is giving American Apparel and their multi-wear products a run for their money! You can wear the top one of six ways with the one shoulder being my personal favorite. This top is a perfect steal because it’s will flow from season to season and can be dressed up ( paired with a skirt and nice accessories) or dressed down ( jeans and flats). I just wish they would release this top in a couple more colors!

B.A. Style "Steal" of the Day: Strapless Knit Dress

I'm a fan of the Hervé Leger Bandage dress; to be honest I’m kind of obsessed with owning one. I am also a fan of eating, having a roof over my head, you know those pesky necessities. Well Gap has actually come to my fashion rescue with its Strapless knit dress aka “Gap Bandage Dress” at a price point I can afford. Now there is a slight discrepancy with the online price of 37.99 and the price I paid in store 18.99 either way though it’s a steal! The Gap describes this dress as “Simple and sexy -- and somehow just right. With it's close fit, satin piping, and darts in just the right places, this one is sure to be a scene-stealer.” And that is exactly how I feel about this perfect LBD that is sure to have women sneering and men drooling!
P.S. this picture really does the dress no justice, you have to see it in person.

B.A. Style "Steal" of the Day: Fringe T-Strap Sandal

Remember how I was mesmerized by the Colin Stuart Fringe Bootie, well did I mention the Fringe t-strap sandal? The Fringe shoe is equally impressive in the areas of quality, style, and sexiness so much so they were my first after Christmas purchase. The comfortable platform, 4 inch heel, suede upper, and of course the fringe detail are sure to make people take a second look. Might I add they were also the best and most shopper savvy purchase of 2008 because went from $98.00 to $38.99. They also come in 3 color black, grey, and mauve and for fewer than 40 bucks why not buy more than hone. HAPPY SHOPPING!

B.A. Style "Steal" of the Day: Norma Kamali for Walmart

Why didn’t I know that Norma Kamali had a diffusion line, and surprisingly it’s not with Target, but with gasp Walmart? I’m sure the fact that the line was with Walmart a place that I avoid for clothing excursions is the reason I didn’t’ know about it until now. The collection has some really cute and very obvious Norma Kamali pieces. While the line fails miserably in its accessories collection ( cheap cheap cheap looking) it succeeds in clothes. There are Norma’s standard jersey pieces, lots of off the shoulder sweaters and jersey tops, and of course fashionable sweats and leggings! I kind of fell for some of the more simple items in the line like the tee shirts, and cardigans which are perfect for layering. While I may not normally venture into a Walmart, I do have to say the Norma Kamali line is worth the chaos.

B.A. Style "Steal" of the Day: byCorpus Alpha and Skinny Jeans

Let me start off by saying I know size doesn’t matter, but I have to be honest when purchasing jeans I know it bugs all women when we have to go up size to find a good fit. Not only did byCorpus a capsule collection that Corpus Denim has with Urban Outfitters create a great pair of jeans, with simple/classic lines, but they also are true to size. This is the first time I was able to purchase a skinny jean in a size 28 the size I actually wear, what added the icing to my cake is that I got the 98.00 originally priced jeans for 19.99 ( in store purchase )last month. Although I’m unsure if you can still find them at the 19.99 price point urbanoutfitters.com does have two steals of its own first the byCorpus Skinny Jean (top picture) which comes in two washes and in the sleek and simple 5 pocket design I mentioned before and is only 39.99 or if you are in the market for something a little different the byCorpus Alpha Jean (bottom picture) comes in three washes including an 80’s inspired acid wash and is priced at 49.99 another steal. I suggest you hurry because once other savvy internet shoppers find out about this sale I’m sure they will sell out.

P.S. Try “luckybreaks8” as a promotional code it worked for me and I got 25% off the sale price!

B.A. Style "Steal" of the Day: For Love and Liberty Sequined Shift Dress

I know I have said this before, but I love sequins and it’s obvious that the designers from Fall 08, as well as the most recent Spring/Summer 09 runway shows love sequins too. Well I found the perfect little black dress with a sequin twist by For Love and Liberty . It’s the perfect little shift shape ( very Audrey Hepburn with some pizazz) that is flattering for all figures the hem line is defiantly a mini, but you can put on a pair of lovely tights for Fall/Winter if you don’t want to show your legs. This is a wonderful dress for a Holiday/Cocktail party, or even the quickly approaching New Years Eve parties. I found this little gem at a new found online boutique that I’m loving called JezzaBelle which carries lines like: Voom by Joy Han, Fighting Eel, Signorelli, and more. The sparkling LBD stunner is on sale for $189.00, but especially for Bay Area Style File Readers Jezzabelle’s owner has extended a 10% discount for this sale item ( as well as all others),and full priced items as well just enter coupon code "bayareastylefile" at check out. Happy Shopping!

B.A. Style "Steal" of the Day: CZ-3 Patent Peeptoe

Let me start off by saying, I don’t normally support people "stealing" from artist/designers nor am I saying hit up Canal Street, or your local knock off hot spot to buy a fake Gucci bag, that’s just tacky, what I am saying is there is a real issue with companies overpricing merchandise because of the name that is associated with it. Now that that is done, I’d personally like to say a big thank you to Forever 21 for making a “copy” ( knock off whatever you want to call it) of one of my favorite shoes of 2008 by Chloé. Even on sale I can’t afford the $387 price tag of the designer version. Say what you will about Forever 21 lacking originality, they gave me and others like me who love designers fashions, but can’t always afford to spend hundreds of dollars on a shoe that although beautiful is so quirky, and unique that it’s probably not going to get that much wear, nor be on trend next year. I don’t do this much, but I advise you to get this one while you can! Forever 21 also has this shoe available in white (now they look cheap!).
