Shoptalk: Karin Jacobson Designs

As I was flipping through BUST (one of my favorite indie magazines) I came across an ad for Karin Jacobson Design and I immediately thought I have to contact her because her work is amazing and therefore has to be featured on my site. What will amaze you about Karin Jacobson’s (aka Super Karin) work is the absolute variety of it. First off she has everything from conversation starting cocktail rings (which is what originally attracted me to her designs) to simple drop earrings with wonderfully colored stones, excellent metal work and every unique design in-between. From fine jewelry (she even does wedding rings) to funky everyday pieces inspired by comic books, sci-fi, and Japanese animation she is fast becoming one of my favorite designers. Karin also recognizes that these are tough economic times, and has created jewelry for all price points which includes her newest collection that I’m super excited about called Plastic Fantastic (pictured). Plastic Fantastic features designs from some of her other collections but all are produced in lightweight acrylic and prices range from 20 to 48 dollars, and who can’t afford that? So regardless of what your price range is I would encourage you to check out all of Karin Jacobson’s collections. I’m sure you’ll find a piece that will brighten your day and have people stopping and staring!
