When talking about specialty brands in make up, you have to think of Lipstck Queen a brand that I have talked about in the past. Bayareastylefilegirl: I'm sure nothing touches your lips other than Lipstick Queen, but what other blushes, mascara, and eye shadow/pencils do you recommend?
Poppy King: I love NARS Orgasm blush (and I also love Lipstick Queen Oxymoron matte gloss for lips and cheeks!) Dior Show Mascara....I don’t really wear eye shadow or pencil because I usually wear red lipstick and I prefer with minimal eye make up.
Bayareastylegilegirl: When you aren't overly busy running your business, what are some of your favorite things to do?
Poppy King: Movies, vintage shopping, knitting, seeing my friends, eating and Bikram Yoga.
Bayareastylefilegirl: What were you doing, prior to the launch of Lipstick Queen?
Poppy King: I was working for Prescriptives cosmetics designing color stories and then I left to write my book Lessons of a Lipstick Queen;Finding and Developing the Great Idea that can Change your Life. It is all about recognizing the ideas you have and how to make them come to fruition.
Bayareastyelfilegirl: If you were not in the beauty industry what would you be doing?
Poppy King: Writing! I love it....and probably being a waitress to support my writing.
Bayareastylegirl: What is your top lesson for aspiring Lipstick Queens?
Poppy King: Well...they are ALL in my book but I would say the overall lesson is that if you prepare and plan well then anything is possible!
